- Keep personal details to yourself: your full name, address, school, workplace, phone number and social media handles.
- Remember that people online are not always who they say they are.
- You are in control. Press Stop and confirm with Really? to end a chat, or press Esc twice.
- Never do anything on camera you would not want saved. The other person could record their screen.
- Never send money, gift cards or passwords to someone you met in a random chat.

Do I need an account or an app?

Is chat anonymous?
Your partner sees you as “Stranger”; you do not need to provide a name or email to chat. We use a random browser ID for matching and reports. Direct video connections can reveal your IP address to your partner. Avoid sharing identifying information.
Are conversations saved?
The application does not record video or audio, or save text messages to a server-side chat history. Messages stay visible in your current browser chat until you start a new chat, exit or reload. Other users can still record or copy what you share.
How are strangers matched?
You are matched with another waiting user in the same mode. Matching considers browser language, approximate region, recent partners and reports. Preferences relax as you wait, so matches are not limited to your region.
How do I move to the next stranger?
Press Stop, confirm with Really?, then press New. You can also press Esc three times. If the other person has already left, choose New to search again.
Who can use Meetly?
Meetly is for adults aged 18 and over. If someone appears to be under 18, use Report during the chat. Age confirmation is self-declared and does not verify identity.
What happens when I report a stranger?
Report disconnects the chat and submits a report. Accepted reports block that pair of browser IDs in the current server session and repeated reports influence matching. These measures cannot guarantee a permanent block of the same person.
Why is my camera not working?
Check your browser camera and microphone permissions, close other apps using the camera, and reload. Video needs HTTPS and working media devices. Network restrictions or a missing relay connection can also prevent a call; text chat is another option.
